Feminax Ultra is used for relieving period pain in women between the ages of 15 and 50. It contains the active ingredient Naproxen – a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID).
How does Feminax Ultra work?
Feminax Ultra works through the active ingredient of Naproxen, a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug that helps to block the enzyme cyclo-oxygenase. Cyclo-oxygenase is an enzyme that is involved in the process of making prostaglandins – the chemical compound that is responsible for causing pain, swelling, and inflammation. Blocking cyclo-oxygenase helps to reduce inflammation and pain by reducing the production of these prostaglandins.
How should Feminax Ultra be taken?
Feminax Ultra should preferably be taken with or after food, swallowed whole with water. Start by taking two 250mg tablets, and if required, take an additional 250mg tabled six to eight hours later. Over the next two days, you can take one 250mg tablet every six to eight hours if required, with a limit of three tablets to be taken per day. Is Feminax Ultra suitable for me?
Feminax Ultra is suitable for women age 15 to 50 who are suffering from period pains. Do not take Feminax Ultra if you are allergic to any of the ingredients in the medication, if you have an ulcer in the gut or stomach, if you have severe heart, kidney or liver failure, if you are taking other NSAID pain medication such as ibuprofen or aspirin, or if you are pregnant.
