Description
What is Cystopurin?
Cystopurin is a medication administered in the form of sachets dissolved into water. It contains the active ingredient of potassium citrate, which helps to relieve the symptoms of cystitis.
How does Cystopurin work?
Cystopurin works through the active ingredient potassium citrate. This helps to reduce the acidity in your urine, making the bladder a less habitable environment for bacteria to live and grow, and helping to relieve the discomfort associated with cystitis.
How should Cystopurin be used?
Cystopurin should be taken three times a day for a two day period. The contents of one sachet should be dissolved in a glass of water. It is also beneficial to drink as much water as possible while you are suffering from cystitis, as this can help to flush some of the bacteria out of the bladder.
Is Cystopurin suitable for me?
Cystopurin is suitable for treating cystitis in people over the age of 6. It should not be used in those under the age of 6, those with kidney or heart disease, or those who are pregnant unless it is deemed necessary by a healthcare professional. Do not take Cystopurin if you are allergic to any of the ingredients.
