Description

What is Treclin Gel?

Treclin gel is an external treatment used to treat acne in those age 12 or older. It contains the active substances of clindamycin and tretinoin, which help to limit the growth of bacteria and normalise the growth and shedding of skin cells.

How does Treclin Gel work?

Treclin gel works through the active ingredients clindamycin and tretinoin. Clindamycin is an antibiotic that helps to limit the growth of the bacteria that is associated with acne and prevent as much inflammation from occurring. Tretinoin then helps to normalise the growth and shedding of cells, preventing the build-up of sebum and the formation of blackheads and whiteheads.

How should Treclin Gel be used?

Use a pea-sized amount of Treclin gel once a day before you go to bed. Wash your face with mild soap and water before application, and make sure that your hands are clean. Gently dab the gel on the chin, nose, forehead, and cheeks, before softly spreading it across the face evenly. Do not use more than the recommended amount as this will give no additional benefit.

Is Treclin Gel suitable for me?

Treclin gel is suitable for those over the age of 12 who are suffering from acne. It is not appropriate for those who are breastfeeding, pregnant, or planning a pregnancy – it is advised that women of childbearing age that start this treatment use contraception both during the treatment period and for one month after. Do not take Treclin gel if you are allergic to lincomycin, or any of the ingredients in the medicine. It is also not recommended for those suffering from other inflammatory skin conditions.
