What is Canestest?
Canestest is a convenient self-test that helps you to know if you’re likely to suffer from thrush or Bacterial Vaginosis (BV). The home-test allows you to find out your vaginal pH levels with easy to use swab. The results are easy to interpret using the chart on the back of the pack, helping you identify the type of vaginal infections you are likely to suffer from (thrush or bacterial vaginosis).
How does Canestest work?
Vaginal pH is normally acidic. This works as a defence mechanism against bad bacteria and keep them in check for a healthy vagina. Usually changes to the vaginal pH can cause vaginal infections such BV. Canestest measures the relevant vaginal pH and helps you to understand and diagnose the type of vaginal condition you’re likely to suffer from. If the results show higher pH, this is likely to indicate that you may be suffering from BV while normal pH means your symptoms are probably caused by thrush.
