What is Nicorette Gum?
Nicorette gum is a form of nicotine replacement treatment. It is used to help manage the effects of nicotine withdrawal. It comes in two doses: 2mg nicotine gum, and 4mg nicotine gum.
How should Nicorette Gum be used?
Nicorette gum should not be chewed continuously as you do with normal chewing gum, otherwise, nicotine can be released too quickly. The gum is chewed and then rested so the nicotine can be absorbed through the lining of the mouth. Once the taste of the nicotine gum has faded, briefly chew again, then rest. Continue this for up to half an hour – after this, the gum will have lost its strength. Do not use more than 15 pieces of gum per day.
Is Nicorette Gum suitable for me?
Nicorette gum is suitable for use by those over the age of 12 who are quitting smoking. It is also suitable for those who are pregnant.
