Sodium Bicarbonate Drops are an over-the-counter medication used to treat excess wax build-up in the ears. These drops work by softening dry or hardened wax to allow for its easy removal.
How do I use Sodium Bicarbonate Drops?
Please follow the instructions provided in the Sodium Bicarbonate Drops packaging, but for general guidelines see below:
- Shake bottle well
- Tilt your head so the affected ear is facing upwards and guide the dropper into the ear
- Gently squeeze 3 to 4 drops into the affected ear and keep your head tilted for a few minutes to give the drops time to soak into the wax
- When complete, wipe away any surplus liquid
- Repeat this process twice daily for 3 to 5 days, you should notice an improvement in this time

Sodium Bicarbonate Drops are suitable for adults and children. If administering to a child, only use as many drops required to fill the ear canal.
