What are Olive Oil Drops?
Olive Oil Drops are a natural remedy used to treat excess wax build-up in the ears. These drops help soften wax to allow for easy removal. A doctor or nurse may suggest using these drops before an appointment for wax removal, and also afterwards as a preventative measure.
How do I use Olive Oil Drops?
Please follow the instructions provided in the Olive Oil Drops packaging, but for general guidelines see below:
- Shake bottle well
- Tilt your head so the affected ear is facing upwards and guide the dropper into the ear
- Gently squeeze 2 to 3 drops into the affected ear and keep your head tilted for a few minutes to give the drops time to soak into the wax
- When complete, wipe away any surplus liquid
- Repeat this process twice daily for up to 14 days while symptoms clear
Are Olive Oil Drops suitable for me?
Olive Oil Drops are suitable for most people, though medical advice should be sought before administering to children under 12. If administering to a child, only use as many drops required to fill the ear canal.
