Zovirax Cold Sore Cream contains aciclovir which penetrates the skin of an affected area to fight the cold sore virus. Zovirax is available without a prescription and is clinically proven to treat a cold sore infection in just 3 days, as well as reduce healing time.
How do I use Zovirax Cream?
Zovirax cream should be applied to cold sores up to 5 times per day, every 4 hours, for 5 days. Use the cold sore cream as follows:
- Always wash your hands thoroughly before application
- Squeeze the cream either on to your finger or a cotton swab
- Apply the cream to any affected areas using your finger or a swab
- Always wash your hands thoroughly after each application
The cream should begin taking effect quite quickly, and any cold sores should disappear within 4-5 days.
Does Zovirax cream stop the spread of cold sores?
There is no cure for cold sores, however Zovirax helps prevent the spread of cold sores and reduces healing time. Cold sores remain contagious until they have fully healed and disappeared. Avoid touching your cold sores, always wash your hands, and do not share items with others that come in contact with your mouth (e.g. eating and drinking utensils, towels, lip care products).
